Due to Hurricane Florence in 2018, the Marine Corps Case Camp Lejeune in NC suffered over $3.6 billion worth of damage to more than 900 facilities. Poettker鈥檚 disaster recovery teams responded to the major re天涯社区 efforts of 44 buildings spread across the 156,000-acre secure naval base.
Renovations for this project occurred on a variety of facility types including:
- Company/Squadron Headquarters
- Administration Facilities
- Bachelor Enlisted Quarters (BEQs) and Troop Housing
- Reception Community and Commons Centers
- Combat Training Pool Facility
- Maintenance Operations Facility
- Airfield Pavement
- Gyms
- Armory
- Vehicle and Field Maintenance Shops
- Dining Facilities
- Warehouse and Supply Support Facility
- Post Office
- Military Clothing Exchange
- Barbershop
To expedite repairs to these various facilities, Poettker implemented a phased recovery plan based on government priorities. This allowed buildings to be restored quickly and efficiently to full working capacity. The repair complexity, which was determined by the level of building damage sustained, typically entailed roof/exterior repair and interior alterations.
Poettker simultaneously worked on the following Camp Lejeune projects to repair the damage incurred as a result of Hurricane Florence:
- Camp Lejeune H-Style Building Renovations
- Camp Lejeune Warehouse Modernization Repairs
- Camp Lejeune Airfield Concrete Mats, Paving, and Infrastructure Repairs
